Finally we're back home after a very wearisome trip.   We're all together now forever.  Thanks be to God for His hand of providence through this journey to date.

We have our court date - March 3rd.  Time to get busy...again!

We received our travel dated for trip #1.  January 18th - Jan 26th.  Time to get busy!

We received an unexpected call from our agency and we now have a referral to a child in Astrakhan!

Our dossier has been sent to Moscow for translation!

We attended an adoption picnic today that our agency hosted where we met other families in the various stages of adoption.  A good time was had and some good connections were made.

It's here!  Our i-171H came in the mail over this past weekend.  That's what we've been waiting for.  Now the ball is in our court again!  Hooray!!!

Here's a link to check on the status of Russian accreditation:  http://moscow.usembassy.gov/adoptions05.html.  Our agency is Children's Hope International.

Our agency hasn't received accreditation and has informed us that the Russia is not following any system or order when granting accreditation.

Russia accredits 7 US agencies.  Hopefully our agency will be accredited soon.

Russia has increased their efforts to spur nationals to adopt.  Initial signs are that more Russians are adopting - which is a good thing.

First of two homestudy visits completed and the feds got our prints.  Read more in our blog on the news page.

Adoption Trivia:
 Did you know that only approximately 10% of Russian orphans are available for adoption?  "There are over 600,000 abandoned children in Russia. But that doesn't mean there are 600,000 children legally available for adoption. By official Russian estimates, 90 percent of those children have parents who either can't afford to raise them or have abandoned them because of alcoholism or prostitution. If those parents keep minimal contact with their children, even as little as one visit a year, the children can't be adopted."
